FEU-FERN COLLEGE LIBRARY





















MISSION AND VISION

The FEU-FERN College Library is located at the 1st Floor of the Main Building. Since 1994, the Library has been the partner of the academic community in the pursuit of quality education. It also aims to provide access to collections and services in support of the research, teaching and learning needs of the FEU-FERN College. The library staff supports, assures and serves data, information and resources that specifically designed to meet the needs of the clientele.
The vision of the FEU-FERN College Library is to facilitate learning and inspire intellectual competence by providing current and instant access to various formats of information in view of Information Technology and Educational Paradigm of the FEU-FERN College.


LIBRARY HOURS
Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 nn.


ISSUANCE OF LIBRARY CARD

Only students/faculty members/employees who are currently enrolled/teaching shall be issued with a Library Card. The requirements in issuing for library card shall be applied as follows: 2 pcs. 1x1 pictures and current reagistration form (RF)
VALIDATION OF LIBRARY CARD
The borrower shall present his/her library card together with the current registration form (RF) to validate the library card.


Note: Lost library card shall be reported and replaced upon payment of Php 20.00.

BORROWING AND RETURNING
1. Library users with Library Card shall be allowed to enter library. Library users shall deposit his/her bag/belongings except valuable things such as wallet, cellular phone, jewelry, money, etc. at the bag station.
2. Only library users with LIBRARY CARD shall be allowed to borrow library materials.
3. The loan periods for circulating materials shall be applied as follows: 2 days for students and 7 days for faculty.

4. The borrower shall sign the book card with name and student/faculty number/employee number.
5. The borrower shall return the Reserve book not later than 8:00 O’clock in the morning of the following day.
6. The borrower shall return the book on the specified due date and held accountable for it until its return.
7. Faculty members who failed to return the book/materials on the specified due date shall be given a 1 month grace period otherwise charges for overdue materials shall apply.
8. Outside researchers and visitors with referral letter and visitor’s pass shall be admitted to the library only upon payment of the library fee of Php 20.00.

RENEWAL
Only those books that are not required by other students/faculty/ employees shall be allowed renewal.

OVERDUE MATERIALS
1. Charges for overdue books are as follows:
- Circulation books Php 5.00/day
- Reserve Books Php 5.00, and 1.00 for the succeeding hour.
2. Holidays and Sundays shall be included in the computation of fines.
3. Borrower shall be required to pay the fines at the cashier (Accounting Dept.) while the library will not deal in any cash transaction.
4. A borrower who has settled and paid the corresponding overdue fine shall be cleared in the record.

RECALL/OVERDUE NOTICES
1. Borrower who has failed to return books on specified due date shall be posted in the bulletin board to remind them on the unreturned materials.
2. All books on loan shall be recalled for the following reasons:
- Urgent need by student/College officials;
- Reserved book;
- Overdue;
- Book inventory purposes.

REPLACEMENT OF LOST/DAMAGED MATERIALS
1. Only lost books or damaged library materials shall be replaced or paid for the borrower.
2. An additional 10% shall be added for processing fee when paying the lost item.
3. Lost or damaged library materials shall be replaced within 30 days with the latest edition of the same item or another copy to be approved by the Chief Librarian.

ISSUANCE OF REFERRAL LETTER
A Referral letter shall be given to students, faculty and employees who have the need to do or conduct research in other libraries.
